Clery行为

To ensure compliance with the Clery行为, Saginaw Valley State University must meet the following obligations:

1. Collect, classify, 和 count 犯罪 reports 和 犯罪统计数据.

• Timely warning-Issue a timely warning for any Clery行为 犯罪 that represents an ongoing threat to the safety of students or employees.
• Emergency notification - Issue an emergency notification upon the confirmation of an emergency or dangerous situation involving an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or employees occurring on the campus.

3. Publish an annual security report 和 fire safety report.

• Must be distributed to all current students 和 employees, 和 ensure it is made available to prospective students 和 employees.
• Must contain policy statements, 程序, 犯罪统计数据, 和 fire statistics associated with each on-campus student housing facility.

4. Submit 犯罪 和 fire statistics to the United States Department of Education.

• Criminal homicide (murder 和 non-negligent manslaughter)

• Sex offenses -(fondling, incest, statutory rape)

Campus security authority is a Clery行为 term that encompasses four groups of individuals 和 organizations associated with an institution. The four groups are as follows:

• A campus police department or a campus security department of an institution.
• Any individual or individuals who have responsibility for campus security but who do not constitute a campus police department or a campus security department.
• Any individual or organization specified in an institution's statement of campus security policy as an individual or organization to which students 和 employees should report criminal offenses.
• An official of an institution who has significant responsibility for student 和 campus activities.

Pastoral counselor 和 professional counselors exempt by law. 

• A Campus Security Authority is not responsible for determining whether a 犯罪 took place.  They should report all allegations to University Police.
• A Campus Security Authority should not try to apprehend the alleged perpetrator of a 犯罪.  They should inform University Police immediately.
• A Campus Security Authority should not attempt to convince a victim to contact law enforcement if the victim chooses not to do so.
